ValiDator II will put your mind at ease. Verify your gauge at any thickness between 1 to 4 inches (2.5 to 10 cm). Select a thickness, place your gauge on ValiDator II and take a reading. Compare the density gauge readings to the NIST traceable density provided with the ValiDator II. Use the PC software, if necessary, to calibrate your gauge. Enter the new parameters into your gauge. You are now ready to start testing with the highest level of accuracy. No more scheduling or weeks of down time. Now you can check your performance against CORES with an Accurate Gauge Calibration.
Thinlayer Nuclear Gauge users have all experienced the sometimes sudden variability in density results. The Thinlayer Nuclear Gauge has a total of five GM counters (4 for 3450) that make up two independent systems within this gauge. The densities measured by each system along with the selected thickness is internally converted to a Thinlayer Density Gauge result on asphalt. During calibration these tubes are in effect synchronized together to produce the necessary Thinlayer Density Gauge results. Due to relatively high counting rates on system 1, and hot test material temperature, there is a tendency for these tubes to go out of synchronization more often than conventional gauges. This phenomena does not necessarily occur at a given period after gauge calibration. It can happen at any time. The ValiDator II is specifically designed to conveniently verify and re-calibrate your gauge at your facility or in the field. Eliminate down time, reduce shipping hassles and improve your measurement performance.
