With older workers retiring, the asphalt industry is facing a problem—a labor shortage problem. Younger workers don’t see the industry as a vibrant place to work because of the negative narratives surrounding the industry. In their minds, working in asphalt seems like a dead-end job.
Part of our mission at InstroTek is to highlight this issue and discuss solutions for workforce development. It’s what inspired us to create a mini-documentary around the subject, featuring interviews with figures within the industry. Our goal is to address the issue head-on and educate those considering working in the asphalt industry, showing them that our industry is actually one of the best places to be.
