CoreDryPRO FAQs

• Confirm the unit is plugged in.
• Test the wall outlet with another device (e.g., lamp, fan).
• Check the facility’s circuit breaker.
• Inspect the fuse on the power module (rear of unit). Replace if blown. If fuses continue to fail, verify the fuse rating is correct.

• Verify vacuum readings match:
• Place a Torr gauge in the sample chamber and run a cycle.
• Compare readings with the display. If variance is greater than 1 mmHg, adjust “Pressure Offset” in the System Menu (Option 16).
• Run the unit with an empty chamber. Display reading should reach 6 mmHg or lower.

• CoreDryPRO registers “sample dry” only when chamber pressure reaches the Pressure Set Point (default: 7 mmHg) during a Bypass Cycle.
• Confirm the unit is entering Bypass mode (look for “Bypass Cycle” on screen and illuminated indicator). Depending on sample moisture, this may take up to 20 Vacuum/Flow cycles.
• Run with the chamber empty. The first Vacuum Cycle must reach at or below the Bypass Pressure set point (default: 12 mmHg). If not, contact InstroTek.

• Run empty chamber; display should reach 6 mmHg or lower.
• Confirm the Cold Trap bottom becomes cold during idle. (Without a probe, place drops of water inside—water should freeze.)
• Ensure the unit enters Bypass mode once the Bypass Pressure setpoint is reached.

• Check Max Cycles setting in System Menu (should be set to 10).
• Run with an empty chamber. Verify minimum pressure in the first Vacuum Cycle is at or below 12 mmHg. If not, contact InstroTek.

• Verify vacuum readings match using a Torr gauge. Adjust “Pressure Offset” if necessary.
• Reduce Plate Limit setting in the System Menu (default: 90°C).
• Confirm chamber vacuum reaches below 6 mmHg.
• Ensure Bypass mode is functioning.
• For some samples, pre-soaking before drying may help ensure uniform moisture distribution.

• Confirm lids are properly seated on both the sample chamber and Cold Trap.
• Clean chamber and replace tank port filters.
• Ensure pump oil fill cap is installed and tight.
• Verify oil drain valve is fully closed.
• Confirm Cold Trap Baffle is seated correctly.
• Run Self-Test; confirm all electrical components draw proper current.
• Inspect chassis for loose or pinched hoses.
• Verify vacuum with an analog gauge; compare to display reading and adjust “Pressure Offset” if variance exceeds 1 mmHg.
• If issue persists, contact InstroTek (919-875-8371).

• Ensure the unit is powered on.
• Run Self-Test to confirm all electrical components receive power.
• Check valves for blockages or failure to open.
• As a last step, open the chassis and disconnect a hose from the tank.
  Warning: This will rapidly release vacuum and may cause chamber lids to lift.
• If unresolved, contact InstroTek (919-875-8371).

• Replace components following the procedure in the manual.

• Recalibrate screen per manual instructions.
• Restart CoreDryPRO and press the InstroTek Logo during the “Splash Screen” to access calibration.
• Alternatively, restart and tap the screen repeatedly until calibration mode appears.
• If issue persists, contact InstroTek (919-875-8371).

• Ensure only the Main Power Cord is connected.
• The AutoRice power cord should only connect between CoreDryPRO and an AutoRice unit—not directly to facility power.
• Unplug the AutoRice cord, restart the CoreDryPRO, and resume normal operation.
