Common Questions
Why is the MiST 2 not powering on?
- Make sure the unit is plugged in.
- Test the outlet by plugging another device, such as a lamp or fan, into the same outlet.
- Check the facility’s circuit breaker.
- Check the fuse at the power module on the back of the Mist 2. If the fuse is faulty, replace it and turn on the unit. If it continues to blow the fuse, check the ratings of the fuse to confirm proper rating.
Why is the MiST 2 not reaching operating pressure?
- Check that the compressor is charging correctly. Check that the compressor tank cut-in pressure is set to 65psi and adjust the pressure knob to 70 psi.
- Check that the Pressure Regulator valve is connected and working. Test this in the Diagnostics menu (code 6478) in the Pressure menu with the tank full of water for a test.
- Use the arrow keys to adjust the supply pressure in the tank to be measured by the pressure sensor, and an external pressure gauge can be used to verify.
- Check the bladder for tears or damage. Follow the bladder-changing procedure.
Why is the MiST 2 not draining water after a test?
- Check that the external valve is open to allow the water out.
- Test the Auto Drain in the Menu to open it and check functionality.
- Confirm the Auto Drain is plugged into the Control PCB.
Why is water coming out of the water overflow cups?
- Lid valves are not operating properly and need to be replaced.
- The pressure relief valve may not be working properly. Switch between normally open/closed if recently replaced.
Why am I getting a message saying the bladder has been ruptured?
- The bladder has ruptured and needs to be replaced. Follow the instructions to purge water (code 7726) from the system prior to installing a new bladder and clip. Take care not to tear the bladder during installation.
Why is the MiST 2 not heating water to temperature I set?
- The tank must be full of water to reach the RTD sensor in the lid
- Check the heater for proper resistance value. (27 ohms)
- Check the thermostat for proper functionality. (0 ohms)
- Check the RTD for proper functionality. (100 ohms at 0°C)
Errors
What does error message 100 mean?
Check for a broken bladder and check the pressure sensor output. As the pressure increases, the voltage will span the range of ~0.4 - 4.0V.
What does error message 200 mean?
- Check for a broken bladder, look for water bubbles in the overflow cups, and check the pressure sensor output. Replace the bladder, replace the valve, or replace the pressure sensor/CPU.
What does error message 400 mean?
- The pressure was not properly released, causing a collapsed bladder. Change the bladder and check the pressure relief valve for proper functionality.
I'm getting a message saying the temperature is too high. What does it mean?
- This means the water temperature has exceeded 70°C in the tank. Check the SSR on the CPU.
I'm getting a message saying "Bladder Lifetime Exceeded". What does it mean?
- Replace bladder. If the bladder was recently replaced, reset the timer in the software.
I'm getting a message saying "Bladder Failure". What do I do?
- Replace bladder.
