Rainhart Engineering Makes the Difference

On May 16, 2018, InstroTek, Inc. completed the acquisition of Rainhart Company. Rainhart was established in 1945 by Charles Raines and Don Hart. Charles worked for the Texas Department of Transportation and was a professor at the University of Texas. Don was an accountant for a manufacturing company in Ohio and a friend of Charles, who decided to move down to Texas to help start Rainhart.

Although the company changed ownership twice along the way, it has always continued in the footsteps of the original founders aiming to produce practical and innovative solutions for the construction and materials testing industry. Rainhart produced the first prototype SHRP® Gyratory Compactor for the Federal Highway Administration, and many of the companies currently producing gyratory compactors continue using Reinhart's design as the basis for their equipment.

Rainhart is known in the industry for well-designed and mechanically rugged products such as their unique Soil Compactor (Proctor Machine), which is gaining popularity with a number of agencies. Other products produced by Rainhart include Beam Breaker, Gyratory Compactor, Langely De-Airing device, and the Mary Ann® sieve shaker, along with specialized equipment for specific civil engineering tests.

We are proud and excited to have Rainhart as part of the InstroTek Team. Together we will continue developing practical and innovative products for the industry and further strengthen the Rainhart brand of products and services.
